Our professional Formation welcomes actors, dancers, circus artists and others who are interested in the world of the clown. Some wish to become clowns, others come to discover the freedom they need on the stage.
The first two years covers the essential basics and require considerable dedication and effort.
A third year is possible for those who have acquired a suitable level and who have decided to become clowns. Courses begin in October and finish in June
It is a creative school who develops the author who exists in every actor.
The creative act naturally takes its roots from solitude and self awareness. Nonetheless the try-outs, the advice, the meetings, the set-backs, which make up the core of Le Samovar teaching, quite naturally open up all sorts of artistic and human path.
How we do it ?
Termly individual meetings for tracking students' progress.Twice termly students appear before the entire teaching body. The purpose being to discover each student's attitude and motivations when away from the classes ; his/her capacity to work alone ; his/her reactions concerning stage fright . . .An oral exam in September settles admission into the 2nd year : each student presents the requested work achieved during the summer (videos, photos, music, a success in circus technique, dramaturgic analysis (backed by a film) comic scenarios, written work).Lectures with the presence of the public
Public Lectures : Five to six times a year, the students work with one of their teachers, in front of public.These public lectures happen on sundays afternoon, in the theater (120 places). It can also happen out of Le Samovar, when ordered by other festival, school, etc.
Students Cabaret Show : At the end of the year, all students present their year's work during an evening show (3 to 6 evenings in a row)CLowns, Burlesques and Eccentrics Festival : Students also participate as curtain raisers and in the musical welcome which start the beginning of the shows.
